Who is eligible for the grant award? Are applicants from all countries eligible?
This program is open, therefore anyone, from anywhere can apply.
Who owns the results and intellectual property (IP) generated during the grant? Does it vest with the institution? Does Terumo BCT get an option to own it?
The investigator owns all IP. The Terumo BCT Grant Committee reviews the data and findings in advance of publishing.
How much funding is available?
A total of $100,000 is available. This may be awarded to one recipient or smaller grants (totaling up to $100,000) to multiple recipients.
What credentials should funded investigators have?
Study leaders should be appropriately qualified according to their proposal. Any individual(s) with the skills, knowledge and resources necessary to carry out the proposed research is invited to work with their organization on an application. Credentials should not be a limiting factor to applying.
Does Terumo BCT help the investigator with any associated publishing costs?
Applicants should include publication submission costs in their budget.
Is the Terumo BCT Grant Committee reviewing proposals internally or externally?
Clinical and scientific rigor must be maintained for a fair process. Both the initial Expression of Interest review and the final review will be conducted by the
Terumo BCT Grant Committee. The committee consists of the Terumo BCT Medical Affairs Director, the Terumo BCT Vice President of Scientific and Clinical Affairs, and up to three independent key opinion leaders/specialists, dependent on nature of proposals.
Once a grant is awarded, would there be any requirements for the investigator to meet certain milestones or report to Terumo BCT?
Yes, as part of the full proposal investigators must outline their study approach and plan, as well as clear milestones.
